Project Completion: Mayesbrook We’ve officially handed over the newly transformed space at Mayesbrook, and what a meaningful one it’s been. Known internally as the 'Rectory', this project involved the careful refurbishment of a listed building and the construction of a new gym and corridor extension. But beyond the brickwork, this was always about creating a place where young people with complex needs can feel safe, supported, and understood. Mayesbrook is a vital resource supporting families across the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, thoughtfully designed to nurture emotional regulation, independence and family connection. Every space has been considered with care, from therapy rooms to breakout areas, ensuring it supports both the young people and the professionals working alongside them. Seeing it complete, ready to welcome its first cohort, is a proud moment for the whole team. The building may have had many names in its time but it now has a clear purpose and a bright future. Huge thanks to everyone involved in making this happen. It’s been a privilege to help bring this vision to life.
It’s Time to Talk Day. An annual mental health awareness day led by Mind, a charity close to our hearts. It’s a simple reminder of something we all know, but don’t always make time for. Being mindful of how the people around us are really doing. A small check-in that can make a big difference. Today, we’re sending all of our teams a box of Krispy Kreme, encouraging teams on every site and in the office to take a proper pause. Step away from the job for a few minutes and actively ask someone how they are. Not in passing, properly. What better excuse for a time out than a Krispy Kreme... Because work in construction can be full-on. Long days, pressure to deliver, time away from home. It all adds up, whether we talk about it or not. Mental health deserves the same attention as physical safety. Catching things early, checking in, asking the question before things escalate, that’s often what stops small problems from becoming bigger ones. You don’t need to fix anything, you don’t need the right words just being willing to listen is often enough to make a big difference to someone. Good teams look out for each other, on site and off. So if you get the chance today, take five minutes, ask the question.
We’re pleased to share that Auburn Group has been appointed by Dulwich Preparatory Schools Trust to deliver a new teaching block at Dulwich Cranbrook in Kent. The project will create much-needed additional teaching space, with a strong focus on programme certainty, compliance and long-term performance. Exactly where we do our best work. We're delighted to be working alongside Modus Construction Consultants, who are providing project management, employer’s agent and QS services, and a strong delivery team to bring this project forward. This appointment builds on our experience delivering education projects where speed, safety, regulatory assurance and buildability all matter. Thank you to the client team for the trust, and to our partners involved in making this happen. We’re looking forward to getting started.
There’s something special about seeing this programme come to life. Last week, we welcomed the first HARP Homelessness Charity Construct cohort to Cliffs Pavilion for a hands-on site visit and a look at how a live construction project really works. The energy on site was brilliant, curiosity was everywhere, there were plenty of questions, and there was even a plug-wiring challenge that got a bit more competitive than expected! A huge thanks to Emma, Tony and Luke for putting real care into the day, and to Daisy the Dog, the cutest site mascot… who stole the show as usual. What matters most is what happened afterwards. The group left buzzing, with more confidence and greater certainty about the possibility of a future in construction. This is why the partnership with HARP means so much. It’s practical, people-focused, and it gives those ready to re-enter work a genuine pathway into the industry. We’re looking forward to the celebration event in February and to continuing our support throughout the programme.
Project Completion showcase: Northbury SEND Classroom. As winter sets in, we're pleased to announce that we officially handed over the Northbury SEND classroom in time for the Sept term, a carefully considered, technically complex build for the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham , designed to support inclusive education and sensory wellbeing. From the outset, this project stood out. ▪️A distinctive zinc roof. ▪️An exposed timber structure. ▪️A bespoke sensory garden and high-spec internal finishes. All delivered within a live school environment. It’s been a collaborative effort from start to finish, with every detail designed to create a calm, welcoming space where pupils can thrive. Check out these recent completion photographs. Huge credit and thanks to our site and project team for their dedication, problem-solving, and care throughout. Northbury is a place for confidence, calm, and creativity, and we’re proud to have played a part in bringing it to life.
Building more than structures – we’re helping build new beginnings. Auburn Group has partnered with HARP Homelessness Charity , Southend’s leading homelessness charity, to support an exciting new pilot programme: HARP Construct. The initiative helps people who’ve experienced homelessness gain the skills, confidence, and qualifications to build sustainable careers in construction. Why it’s needed: Across the UK, construction faces a major skills shortage – with over 250,000 new workers needed by 2028. At the same time, thousands of people are seeking a way back into stable employment and independence. HARP Construct bridges that gap – giving motivated individuals the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to the industry’s future. Over the next year, two 12-week programmes will help people who’ve previously experienced homelessness gain valuable skills, confidence, and hands-on experience in the construction industry. Each participant is vetted as “ready to work” and supported through tailored training, mentoring, and on-site exposure. Auburn will be contributing by providing: ◾ PPE for participants ◾ Site tours of the Cliffs Pavilion project ◾ Career talks and Q&A sessions ◾ Mock interviews with our teaThis collaboration isn’t about charity – it’s about opportunity. It’s about giving people the chance to rebuild, re-skill, and reimagine their future through construction. We’re proud to play a small part in this big idea – helping to turn hard hats into hope.

It's World Mental Health Day At Auburn Group, we believe that health isn’t just about hard hats and hi-vis jackets. Mental wellbeing is just as important as physical safety – and that means creating an environment where people feel supported, understood, and safe to talk. Across the business, our trained Mental Health First Aiders are always here to provide a listening ear, guidance, and support for anyone who might be struggling. As an industry, it’s vital we continue to break the stigma and keep the conversation going. If you’re finding things tough, know that help is always available. ◾ Mates in Mind ◾ The Lighthouse Charity
What does the future of Cliffs Pavilion look like? Now passers-by don’t have to imagine — they can see it for themselves. As part of the ongoing transformation of this iconic Southend venue, we’ve installed something a little different on the hoarding… 📱 A 360° interactive experience that brings the future vision to life. By scanning the QR code on site, members of the public can explore the planned refurbishment in augmented reality — offering a glimpse of what’s to come, right from the seafront. This simple addition is part of Auburn’s commitment to transparency, inclusion, and community. After all, this venue belongs to everyone — so it’s only right that everyone gets to see what’s happening.
No silos. No egos. Just good people doing great work - together. The success of Greatfields wasn’t about one company. It was about alignment across every part of the team. ◾ Ridge & Partners – independent carbon verification ◾ Net Zero Panels – offsite system delivery ◾ Fermacell – compliant linings and boards ◾ Be First & LBBD – leadership and vision ◾ Auburn Group – joined it all together The result? A compliant, low-carbon, future-ready school—delivered without the friction. What happens when collaboration is built into the process? See how it worked
In construction, “bespoke” still gets all the glory. But repeatability? That’s where the real performance lives. At Greatfields, Auburn delivered using tested, repeatable build-ups through the OSKOP platform—removing uncertainty and unlocking delivery confidence. ◾ REI60 fire-rated systems ◾ Severe Duty-rated internal walls ◾ No late-stage substitutions ◾ Proven once. Repeated with confidence. Repeatable doesn’t mean generic. It means compliant. Scalable. Smart. What if we stopped reinventing and started repeating what works?
Trinity School Open Day – Today’s the Day! The team is all set and welcoming guests to our live site open day at Trinity School in Dagenham. It’s a chance to explore a truly unique SEND school design, see our 2D panelised system in action, and chat with the people delivering it. We’re proud to be opening our doors and sharing insight into how Modern Methods of Construction can support faster, smarter, and more sustainable education projects.
Designing Better Schools for Every Learner At Auburn Group, we believe that specialist education deserves specialist construction. That’s why we’re opening up our Trinity School live site for a one-day-only opportunity to explore: ◾ A truly unique SEND school design ◾ How 2D panelised MMC can support BREEAM + carbon goals ◾ What hybrid construction really looks like in action ◾ How we’re balancing performance, cost and pace This is more than a tour, it’s a hands-on insight into what’s possible when forward-thinking design meets practical, offsite delivery.
Offsite isn’t the shortcut. It’s the strategy. At Greatfields Primary School, Auburn Group used a panelised, closed-panel offsite system, not to go faster, but to go smarter. ◾ Pre-tested build-ups ◾ Programme control without compromise ◾ Integrated carbon, compliance, and collaboration ◾ No gimmicks. Just delivery. Offsite worked here, not because we said it would, but because it did. So what’s really stopping the rest of the industry? See it in action
